Dr. Natalya Romaniv is a comprehensive ophthalmologist who specializes in cataract surgery. She is a skilled cataract surgeon who uses the latest phacoemulsification techniques for cataract surgery, and offers both toric and multifocal intraocular lens implants to reduce dependence on glasses after surgery. She also does eyelid procedures and takes care of patients with glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetes.
Dr. Romaniv was born in Ukraine and grew up in Chicago, and later earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of Chicago. She attended Washington University in St. Louis for her M.D. degree. Dr. Romaniv then spent one year as a research fellow at the University of Utah studying innovative intraocular lens designs used in cataract surgery, and won multiple awards for her work. She completed her ophthalmology residency at Louisiana State University in New Orleans.
Dr. Romaniv has an interest in international ophthalmology, and had travelled with the International Vision Volunteers to Zambia in Africa to provide free eye care and surgery. She is fluent in English and Ukrainian as well as conversational in Russian and Spanish.
