How the VISX laser works
The VISX laser produces an invisible beam
of ultraviolet light which can painlessly remove microscopic
amounts of corneal tissue without causing damage to surrounding
cells or underlying eye structures. The laser is so precise
it can etch microscopic layers off of a human hair. The VISX
laser has FDA approval to treat nearsightedness, farsightedness,
and astigmatism.
